What causes swollen gums?

Signs and symptoms of swollen gums

  • A dusky or dark red color

  • Puffy or swollen appearance

  • Tender to the touch

  • Bleeding after brushing or flossing

  • Persistent throbbing in your mouth

  • Teeth that begin to appear longer
